A guide to what Make Up Bloom covers, how to find what you need and how to read our research-based guides, roundups and reviews.

Nora Whitfield

Make Up Bloom is a beauty blog for women who want practical, trustworthy answers before they spend money or time. Whether you are building a skincare routine, choosing a foundation, growing out gray hair, shopping for press-on nails or weighing a cosmetic procedure, the goal is the same: clear steps, honest picks and realistic expectations.

How the site is organized

Everything lives in five categories, each with its own introduction that maps out the main topics inside it. Start with the category closest to your question, read its overview, and then follow the guides that fit your situation.

The five categories

Skincare

Daily routines, active ingredients, skin concerns, anti-aging and under-eye care, sunscreen, moisturizers, body care, self-tanning and at-home devices. Start at Skincare.

Hair

Color, cuts and styles, damage repair, curly and wavy textures, scalp health, hair loss in women and styling tools. Start at Hair.

Makeup

Techniques, everyday and special-occasion looks, product roundups and reviews, lashes, bridal makeup and women’s fragrance. Start at Makeup.

Treatments

In-office procedures such as Botox, fillers, peels, lasers and professional microneedling, with costs, results and aftercare. Start at Treatments.

Nails

Nail art, press-ons, gel, dip powder, acrylic and builder gel, nail health, at-home manicures and pedicures, plus lip balm and lip care. Start at Nails.

How to read our guides

How-to guides give you steps in order. Roundups and reviews are research-based: we draw on ingredient lists, manufacturer information, published guidance and patterns in owner reports, not hands-on lab testing. You can read more about this on the About page.

Medical and procedure content is educational. It can help you prepare good questions, but diagnosis and treatment decisions belong with a licensed dermatologist, clinician or injector.

Good to know

The library is still in its early stages, so categories will fill out over time. For how we handle money and sponsorship, see the Disclosure page, and if you have a question or suggestion, head to Contact.
